On the Wing

Not too long ago, I watched hundreds of baby bugs emerge from their egg sacs on my back porch. All going in different directions, at different speeds, already displaying distinct personalities. I observed the process unfold for some time.

The experience made me think about the birth of possibilities. For example, a situation occurs which could lead you to a great number of different outcomes. It can be exhilarating to contemplate where your next steps may lead you. You can watch all the potential outcomes come bursting forth.

This installation is itself a new direction and an experiment, allowing me, as the artist, to discover not only new modes of expression but also new meanings. I experience my own artwork as messages from my subconscious to my conscious self. This message - joy and wonder.
